Terms of accreditation
The terms on which ADRIG Certification grants, maintains and withdraws accreditation, and the conditions attached to use of the ADRIG mark.
Last updated August 2026
1. Scope of accreditation
Accreditation is granted to a specific course, delivered by a specific partner, taught by a specific named trainer, at the level and duration stated on the certificate. It is not granted to an organisation as a whole and does not extend to any other course in the partner's catalogue.
ADRIG accreditation is independent third-party quality assurance. It is not a regulated national qualification and confers no statutory licence to practise.
2. Partner obligations
A partner holding accreditation must, throughout the certificate term:
- Deliver the course as accredited, using the approved curriculum and the named trainer.
- Notify the registrar within 20 working days of any material change to the trainer, curriculum, level, duration or venue.
- Retain attendance, assessment and certification records for six years and produce them on request.
- Publish clear pricing, refund terms, a complaints route and a reasonable-adjustment policy to learners before enrolment.
- Permit unannounced observation of accredited delivery by an ADRIG assessor.
- Cooperate fully with any investigation into a complaint.
3. Use of the ADRIG mark
The mark may be displayed only against the specific accredited course and must be accompanied by the certificate number. It may not be used on an organisation's homepage, letterhead or general marketing in a way that implies accreditation of the organisation or of unassessed courses.
The mark must be removed within five working days of a certificate expiring or being withdrawn. Continued display after that point is a breach of these terms.
4. Fees
Assessment fees are payable on submission and are not contingent on the outcome. A declined application is not refunded, as the assessment work is performed either way. Annual maintenance fees are payable per active certificate. Non-payment of maintenance fees suspends the certificate after 30 days' written notice.
5. Withdrawal
ADRIG may withdraw a certificate where:
- The approved trainer is found not to be delivering the course.
- The curriculum, level, duration or venue has materially changed without notification.
- A learner complaint is investigated and upheld.
- The partner has misrepresented the scope of its accreditation.
- The partner obstructs surveillance or an investigation.
- Maintenance fees remain unpaid following notice.
6. Publication of withdrawals
Withdrawn certificates remain on the public register, marked as withdrawn, with the date and a summary reason. Records are not deleted. A partner may re-apply once the underlying issue is remedied.
7. Appeals
A partner may appeal any decision within 30 calendar days to the Accreditation Council, which is independently chaired and includes no member of the assessing team. The council may uphold the decision, substitute its own, or remit the file for reassessment. There is no fee to appeal.
8. Liability
ADRIG assesses the design and stated delivery of a course. It does not deliver training, does not contract with learners, and is not a party to any agreement between a partner and its learners. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Changes to the standard
The Accreditation Council reviews the Course Quality Standard annually. Partners receive 90 days' notice of any change that would affect an existing certificate, and are given until the next renewal to comply.
