For employers

A training signal your screeners can actually check

Course names on a CV tell you very little. An ADRIG certificate number tells you the curriculum and the trainer were independently assessed, that the course actually ran, and that this named learner completed it — and lets whoever is screening confirm all of that in a browser tab, for free.

Screening in three steps

  1. 1. Ask for the number. Add a free-text field for “ADRIG certificate number” to your application form.
  2. 2. Paste it into the register. It returns the learner's name, the course, the provider, the trainer, the dates and the status.
  3. 3. Check the name and the status. Active means current. Withdrawn and expired are shown explicitly, never hidden.

Category codes

Reference a code, not a course name

Naming a specific course in a job description excludes every equivalent course. Naming an ADRIG category code with a level captures the capability you actually want, from any certified provider.

Job description wording

Copy the language that works

These are the forms of words our employer partners use most. Replace {CODE} with the relevant category code.

Preferred requirement

ADRIG {CODE} certification at Level 4 or above is preferred. Candidates may supply their certificate number for verification at adrigcertification.org/verify.

Added advantage

Candidates holding an ADRIG {CODE} certification will be considered to have an added advantage during shortlisting.

Internal development framework

Progression to {grade} requires ADRIG {CODE} certification at Level 4 in the relevant discipline, evidenced by a current certificate number.

Training procurement

Suppliers responding to this invitation must hold current ADRIG course certification for each course proposed, and provide course approval numbers with their submission.

A note on fairness: we recommend certification is stated as preferred or as an added advantage rather than essential, unless the role genuinely requires it, so candidates with equivalent experience are not screened out.

Level mapping

Map ADRIG levels onto your capability framework

Levels describe depth and independence of practice rather than course length. Most employers map Level 3 to “competent in role”, Level 4–5 to “independent practitioner”, and Level 6–7 to “specialist or leadership”.

Level 1

Awareness

Knows the basics. Works with supervision.

Level 2

Foundation

Can do the routine parts of the job.

Level 3

Intermediate

Competent in a defined role.

Level 4

Practitioner

Works independently. Handles the unfamiliar.

Level 5

Advanced

Complex judgement. Guides others.

Level 6

Expert

Degree-depth. Research-informed.

Level 7

Strategic

Sets direction. Postgraduate depth.

Bulk verification

Screening at volume? The employer engagement team can arrange a read-only register export or a scheduled bulk check for a candidate pipeline. There is no charge for verification, ever.

Supplier due diligence

If you buy training, requiring ADRIG course certification per course removes most provider-by-provider due diligence. We can supply standard procurement clauses on request.

Report a false claim

If a provider or candidate claims ADRIG certification that does not appear on the register, tell compliance. We investigate every report and publish withdrawals.
